This course is for people who run safety training in US workplaces: health, safety and environment (HSE) advisers, supervisors and in-house trainers. It explains what the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards require an employer to train, who may train, what must be written down, how often training must be repeated, and how to build and deliver a training program that meets those rules and actually works.
It is an intermediate course. It assumes you already know the basics of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) and the structure of the OSHA standards. If you do not, start with the OSHA General Industry Safety Awareness (29 CFR 1910) course or the OSHA Construction Safety Awareness (29 CFR 1926) course.

What you will be able to do
By the end you should be able to take any job in your workplace, list the OSHA training requirements that apply to it, say who may deliver that training and what record it needs, and plan when it must be repeated. You should also be able to judge whether a training session met the standard's intent: did the worker understand it and can they do it?
Two other courses cover topics this course only touches. Adult learning theory and presentation skills are in the Training of Trainers (ToT) course. Competence frameworks and assessment are in the Competency Assessment and Workforce Development course.
A supervisor finishes this course. Which statement about it is true?
