A fire can start anywhere
Fires start in offices, warehouses, workshops, kitchens, vehicles and staff accommodation. Most start small: a damaged cable, a heater too close to paper, a pan left on a hob. In a few minutes, a small fire can fill a building with smoke. People can be hurt, jobs can be lost, and a business may never reopen.
The good news is that most fires can be prevented, and most people can escape safely if the building is looked after and everyone knows what to do.
Four parts of fire safety
Stop fires starting: control heat sources, keep fuel tidy and away from heat.
Two short stories
