- Identify all forms of hazardous energy present in a job, including stored and residual energy
- Explain the full LOTO sequence from identifying energy sources to proving zero energy
- Apply personal locks and tags correctly, including group isolations using a lockbox
- Verify de-energisation with an appropriate try-test or test-for-dead method before work starts
- Link isolation certificates to the permit to work and control safe reinstatement
- Recognise common isolation failure modes such as wrong-unit errors, unauthorised lock removal and back-feeds
