- Distinguish AC from DC and explain why power grids generate, transmit and distribute AC
- Describe the difference between single-phase and three-phase supplies and where each is used on site

- Recognise typical LV, MV and HV voltage levels on an industrial site and the access rules that go with them
- Explain what fuses, MCBs, MCCBs and RCDs protect against, and why earthing and bonding keep people safe
