What you'll learn

  • Explain what a code of conduct is for, and why "it was legal" and "it was normal here" are not the same as "it was right"
  • Recognise the pressures — targets, deadlines, loyalty, fear of speaking up — that make ordinary people drift into misconduct
  • Apply a structured test to a grey-area decision before you act, not after
  • Handle the common workplace issues: conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, confidential information, expense integrity, harassment and discrimination, and misreported data or hours
  • Describe why falsifying a safety or quality record is treated as a cardinal offence, and what to do when you are pressured to sign for work you did not witness
  • Raise a concern through the right channel, know your protection from retaliation, and act when raising it locally does not work
