• Produce accurate goods descriptions and supporting documents, and recognise why loose descriptions are a serious error
• Recognise restricted, dual-use and sanctions-screened goods and escalate them instead of self-clearing
• Outline temporary import and re-export regimes and the conditions attached to them
• Brief a customs broker or freight forwarder accurately and retain the records an audit will ask for
