  • Describe the atmospheric hazards of confined spaces and the typical entry limits for oxygen, flammable gas and toxic gases
  • Apply the correct gas-testing sequence (oxygen, then flammables, then toxics) and maintain continuous monitoring during entry
  • Prepare a space for entry through isolation, draining, purging, ventilation and permit controls
  • Describe the duties of the entrant, standby person, entry supervisor and rescue team
  • Verify that a workable rescue plan and equipment are in place before any entry begins
