What you'll learn

• Describe the drivers for treating produced water: injection quality, discharge specifications and equipment protection.
• Trace a typical treatment train — skim tank/CPI, induced gas flotation, hydrocyclones and polishing — and state what each stage removes.
• Apply sound oil-in-water sampling and measurement discipline and act on trends, not single results.
• Recognise the causes of declining injectivity and the role of scale, souring and bacteria control chemicals.
• Demonstrate an environmental compliance mindset: report exceedances promptly and never dilute to mask an off-spec stream.
