Work with us as a trainer
Trainers apply with Become a trainer and join our trainer pool once our team approves them. You then quote on the training requests that match you, and teach the ones you are chosen for.
Apply
- Adım 1: Go to Become a trainer. You can also press Are you a trainer? Apply to join on Freelance trainers, or find it on Careers.
- Adım 2: Sign in, or choose Create an account. Applying needs an account, so we can send you trainings later. We reply to the email address of your account.
- Adım 3: Fill in the form: the course areas and courses you can teach, the languages you teach in, your experience, your CV and the link to your LinkedIn profile (such as linkedin.com/in/your-name). The LinkedIn link is required: our team reads it before approving you.
- Adım 4: Tick that you accept the training provider terms. They open in a popup, and they are also chapter 11 of our Terms of Service.
- Adım 5: Send it. Your trainer profile is made at once from what you sent.
Our team checks every new trainer. Until then, your profile shows Your trainer profile is waiting for approval and we send you no trainings. We email you when you are approved.
Did you apply before accounts were needed? We may add you to the trainer pool ourselves. Then sign in on Sign in with the email address you applied from. If you never set a password for it, choose Forgot your password? and set one.
Your trainer page
Your trainer page is the Trainer side of your profile. The switch at the top of your profile moves between Learner and Trainer. The Trainer side has four tabs: Trainings, Messages, Reviews and Trainer details. On your account, Open trainer page takes you there.
Keep Trainer details up to date: your phone, where you are based, the cities you can deliver in, the courses and languages you teach, a few sentences about you, and, if you like, your usual price for one training day. We use it to decide which trainings to send you. Once our team approves you, and while you are available, you appear on Freelance trainers with a trainer page of your own, separate from your member profile: visitors and search engines see your name, photo, where you work, the courses and languages you teach, your experience and your few sentences, never your contact details, price or CV. Switch off Show me on the public list of freelance trainers if you would rather not be listed. Press Save profile. Under Your CV, press Upload a new CV to replace it.
Your CV, phone and prices are seen only by you and our team. They are never shown on your public profile.
Under Reviews, you see the reviews from learners who attended your live online trainings. Your rating shows from three reviews.
Busy for a while? Switch off Available for new trainings. We do not send you new trainings until you switch it back on.
To ask us something, open Messages, write under Messages with our team and press Send. We answer in the same place. We do not email you about a message, so look at your trainer page now and then. New shows next to the title when we have written to you, and your account page says so too.
Send a quote
When we need a trainer for a course, we post a training request and ask the trainers whose profile matches it. It appears under Trainings on your trainer page and we email you. Some of our requests are on the training requests board for every approved trainer; others only the trainers we ask can see.
- Adım 1: Press Open the request to see the course, the dates it runs between, where it is taught (in a classroom, or Live online), the language and the last day to send a quote.
- Adım 2: Enter your price for the whole training, its currency, your first and last day, and, for a classroom course, the city and where you teach it.
- Adım 3: Press Send quote.
Until the last day, you can change your quote or withdraw it. Only our team sees your price. Other trainers do not.
When you are chosen
We compare the quotes on price, dates, place and experience, and choose one. If it is yours, we email you and the request says iCompetent chose your quote.
Once you confirm, the others who quoted get an email to say another provider was chosen. The request then shows the dates it runs and its learners, where you mark who attended.
Live online courses
Some courses are taught live online, on this site, instead of in a classroom. Their requests say Live online, and you quote your dates and a price with no city.
Once you confirm one, it may be listed for learners under Live online on Courses. On each training day, press Go to the classroom, then Open the room: the learners waiting in the lobby come in. At the end of the day, press End for today.
In the room you can upload slides or a PDF to the whiteboard, turn Learners can draw on or off, and share your screen. From the first day, mark each learner with Mark attended on the request’s page; the times they were in the room are shown beside them. A marked learner can get a certificate of attendance.
