Live online trainings
A trainer teaches you live, by video, in your browser. You share a whiteboard and a chat with the trainer. Live online trainings are free, and each has a set number of seats.
Find and enrol
- Step 1: Go to Courses and choose the Live online tab. Each training shows its dates, its length, the seats left and its language.
- Step 2: Open a training and sign in. If you are not signed in, the button reads Sign in to enrol.
- Step 3: Press Enrol. We email you the dates and the link to the classroom.
Enrolment closes when the training starts, or when every seat is taken. A full training says Full.
If you cannot come, press Cancel my enrolment on the training’s page before the start date, so someone else can take your seat.
What you need
- A computer or a phone with a camera and a microphone. Headphones help others hear you clearly.
- A recent browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. There is nothing to install.
- A network that allows video calls.
Join on a training day
- Step 1: Open the training’s page and press Go to the classroom. The button appears only on the days of the training.
- Step 2: Allow the site to use your camera and microphone when your browser asks. You can still join without them, to follow the board and the chat.
- Step 3: Wait in the lobby. You go into the room as soon as the trainer opens it.
The same link works on every day of the training. When the trainer presses End for today, everyone goes back to the lobby.
In the room
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mute / Unmute | Turns your microphone off or on. |
| Stop camera / Start camera | Turns your camera off or on. |
| Share screen | Shows your screen to the class instead of your camera. Not on phones. |
| Hide chat / Show chat | Hides or shows the chat. |
| Leave | Leaves the room. You can come back while it is open. |
The chat and the whiteboard last only as long as the call: nothing is recorded or kept afterwards. Download the board before you leave if you want to keep it.
The whiteboard
The trainer draws, writes and shows slides on the shared whiteboard. The tools are Pen, Eraser, Line, Arrow, Box and Text, in five colours and three sizes. You can draw with a mouse, a pen or your finger.
You can draw on the board when the trainer turns on Learners can draw. The corner of the board says Learners can draw or Only the trainer draws.
Anyone can press Download board and choose This page as an image or All pages as a PDF.
Certificate of attendance
When the training ends, the trainer marks who attended. Then Get your certificate appears on the training’s page. The certificate says you attended the live online training. It is not an exam result.
It works like a course certificate: you check your name, and it has a number and a verification link. See Certificates.
Rate your trainer
If the trainer marked you as attended, you can review them after the last day of the training, for 60 days. Open the Learning tab of your profile and press Rate your trainer next to the training.
Choose from one to five stars and, if you like, write a few words. Press Send review. Our team checks each review before it appears. It shows your first name and the first letter of your last name. You can review each training once.
