Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most often.
Account
- I signed up with Google. How do I reset my password?
- A Google account has no iCompetent password until you set one. Use Continue with Google to sign in, then set a password under Set a password on My account if you want to sign in with your email address too.
- Do I need a separate account for corp.icompetent.com?
- No. The same account works on icompetent.com and corp.icompetent.com.
- I see "Too many attempts".
- Wait a few minutes, then try again.
Skills
- Where are the lessons of a skill?
- Skills no longer have lessons of their own. You earn a skill by finishing the courses listed under How to earn this skill on its page. See How skills work.
- What happened to the skill I had started?
- Nothing you did is lost. Items you completed still count toward your levels, and your competency records stay on your profile. See Work you did in the old skill lessons.
- My skill record expired. What do I do?
- Prove the level again, for example by taking the course again. Inside an organisation, an assessor can sign you off again.
Courses and certificates
- Why can I not see the right answers after a quiz?
- The correct answers are shown once you pass. Review the lessons for the questions marked wrong, then try again after the short wait.
- There is a mistake in the name on my certificate.
- Correct your name on My account, then contact us with the certificate number. We reissue the certificate under the corrected name; its number and its secure link stay the same.
- Someone checked my certificate number and could not see my name.
- That is by design. Send them the secure link instead: the QR code on your certificate opens it, and it is under Share this certificate. See Verify a certificate.
- I paid but my course is not there.
- Sign in with the account you bought with and wait a few minutes. If it is still missing, contact us. See Payments and refunds.
