Mobile and Tower Cranes: An Introduction
A beginner familiarisation course on the cranes themselves, for site supervisors, engineers, planners and anyone starting out in lifting work. Explore rough-terrain, crawler, truck loader and tower cranes in 3D, then learn what keeps a crane standing: ground bearing, outriggers and mats, load charts, the load moment indicator and how to test it, wind and the anemometer, tower crane free slew, the lift plan and its roles, the hook safety latch and overhead power lines. It does not replace the practical training, assessment and authorisation that the employer and local law require for any lifting role.
