Self-paced online courses and certificates of completion

The catalogue at /courses now has two sides: classroom and in-house training delivered by an instructor, and self-paced online courses you work through in the browser. The online courses hold lessons, interactive activities and module quizzes, and they remember where you stopped. Finish every lesson and pass every module quiz and you can claim a certificate of completion, which has a verification page anyone can check against its number. We are deliberate about what that certificate says: it records that you completed the course, not that your competence was assessed under supervision. Quizzes are marked in your own browser. For anything that needs assessed competence, the skills platform is the right tool, and that is a different process.
