DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation (49 CFR)

Awareness training aligned with the US DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR Parts 171–180) for shipping and receiving staff, warehouse supervisors, managers of drivers and EHS staff who prepare or offer hazmat for highway transport. It covers the general awareness, safety and security awareness parts of hazmat employee training: classification, the Hazardous Materials Table, shipping papers, marking, labelling, placarding, packaging, segregation, exceptions, security, the Emergency Response Guidebook and incident reporting. It is not an OSHA Outreach (10-hour or 30-hour) course and issues no DOL or OSHA card, and it does not certify anyone: your employer must add function-specific and site-specific training, test you and certify you, and repeat the training at least every three years.
