Assessors and sign-off
An assessor confirms that a learner's practical work meets the standard. Administrators decide who may assess which skill, and up to which level.
Authorise an assessor
- Step 1: Open Assessors and choose Add Authorization.
- Step 2: Pick the person, the skill and the Max Level they may sign off.
- Step 3: Press Authorize.
Authorisations are given per skill, never for everything. They can have an expiry date, and Revoke ends one immediately.
Who can sign off
- The assessor holds an active authorisation for that skill.
- Their maximum level covers the level of the item.
- They are not the learner. Self sign-off is always refused, whatever the role.
The sign-off queue
Items waiting for sign-off appear in the Sign-off queue on the Assessors page, with any evidence the learner attached. Review the work, add a note if you want, and press Countersign. A countersigned item is locked: the learner cannot un-mark it.
For learners
When an item needs sign-off, marking it done sends it to the queue and it shows Awaiting sign-off. It does not count as done until it is signed, so it can keep the next level closed. Withdraw submission pulls it back if you need to change something.
If an item waits a long time, ask your administrator to check that someone is authorised for that skill and level.
