What iCompetent is
iCompetent offers courses online, live online and in a classroom, records the skills they build, and helps organisations see who in their team is competent at what. This page explains the main parts and where each one lives.
Courses come first
The core of iCompetent is courses. You can take a course in three ways:
- Online — self-paced, in your browser, with quizzes and a certificate of completion. See Find and enrol in a course.
- Live online — taught by a trainer by video, on set days, with a certificate of attendance. See the Live online tab of the catalogue.
- In a classroom — delivered by our trainers at a venue or at your site. See Classroom training and consultancy.
Courses can also be taken together as a program, like "HSE Officer", with a program certificate at the end.
Skills: what your courses add up to
A skill has four levels. When you finish a course or a program, the skills it builds are recorded on your profile at the level it proves. Higher levels need practical work or an assessor's sign-off. See How skills work.
- On your own. Create a free account on icompetent.com and see your skills grow on your profile as you finish courses.
- As an organisation. Set up a workspace on corp.icompetent.com, add your people, say which skills each job needs, and follow everyone on a matrix. See Set up your organisation.
Consultancy and tools
- Business consultancy — help with management systems, competency frameworks, audits and more. See our services.
- Tools — including the AI interviewer, for practising interviews and checking your knowledge of a topic.
Where each part lives
| Address | What you do there |
|---|---|
| icompetent.com | Sign in, browse skills and courses, learn on your own, see your profile, certificates and account settings. |
| corp.icompetent.com | The workspace for organisations: people, job titles, required skills, matrices and sign-off. |
You use one account for both. When you sign in on one, you are signed in on the other as well.
What it costs
The skills platform is in early access and is free to use. Some online courses are free and some have a price, which is shown on the course page. AI interviewer sessions are paid. For classroom training and consultancy, we give you a quote. See Pricing and Payments and refunds.
